Delete your account & data.

You can permanently delete your SadhanAI account and the personal data we hold at any time. This page explains how, what gets deleted, what (if anything) is retained, and how long it takes.

1.From inside the app (recommended)

  • Open the SadhanAI app.
  • Tap Me (bottom-right) → scroll to the bottom of the screen.
  • Tap Delete account. Confirm in the dialog.
  • You will be signed out immediately and your data is anonymised within seconds.

2.By email (no app needed)

  • Send a request from the email address registered on your account to privacy@sadhanai.ai with the subject line Delete my account.
  • Include the phone number you signed up with so we can verify ownership.
  • We process the request within 7 business days and email you a confirmation.

3.What gets deleted

  • Your name, email, phone number, profile photo, and any other personal identifiers.
  • Your study history — quiz attempts, mock test scores, bookmarks, error notebook, error patterns.
  • Your AI Tutor chat history and Photo Doubt uploads.
  • Your study plan, exam-date target, and notification preferences.
  • Your active session and FCM push token.

4.What is retained (and why)

  • Razorpay payment receipts — required by Indian tax law (CGST/SGST records, retained 8 years per Section 36 of the Income Tax Act). These are stored at Razorpay; we keep only the transaction reference number.
  • Anonymised aggregate analytics — daily-active-user counts, exam-type popularity, etc. These cannot be linked back to you and are kept for product analytics.
  • Audit logs — security-relevant events (login attempts, payment fraud signals) are retained 90 days then purged. These contain a hashed user ID, not your name or phone.

5.Timeline

  • In-app deletion: instant — your account becomes inaccessible the moment you tap Delete.
  • PII purged from primary database: within 30 days.
  • Backups: encrypted database backups are retained 30 days for disaster recovery and are then overwritten. Your data is purged from those backups by day 30.

6.What if I just want to cancel my subscription?

  • You do not need to delete your account to cancel a subscription.
  • Open the app → Me → tap the plan card → Cancel subscription. Your subscription stays active until the current billing period ends, then auto-downgrades to Free. Your study history and AI history remain intact.

7.After deletion, can I sign up again?

  • Yes. The phone number you used is freed for a fresh signup as soon as deletion completes. You start as a new user with no prior history.
